Rockwell Blake describes dark timbre and passagio in a singing lesson with Emilio Fina in June 2007.
Blake emphasizes that "passagio" is just a word and doesn't exist. The dark timbre is applied when moving into the upper register. That depends on where it is applied and NOT in a certain region or certain notes that many worry about.
Much of Rocky's technique and references are dated back to Garcia's transcripts that was written centuries ago, but still apply today and will always apply to the singing voice.
